James was born and raised in (God’s Country) Highland, IL. He is currently living and training out of Oklahoma City, OK. James started training at Lovato Jiu Jitsu in 2008 and quickly earned a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu after winning the silver medal at the 2010 World Championships as a blue belt.
